About

A steady hand, from the first question to the first agent that works.

Held Steady Co. exists for one reason. AI agents can now take real work off people's desks, and most people have no one to show them how to start safely. We listen first, set up the first agents properly and teach you to run them. Then we step back.

Chandler

Chandler Fritz, founder

I started coding in 1984, when I was ten, on an IBM XT. I went from FORTRAN and COBOL to C and Java, then everything since, and now I'm building with AI agents. Along the way I've worked with land, with bodies and with words. I've farmed, trained people, started men's groups, studied acupuncture and written poetry. That range is why I build around how a person actually works, not around the tools.

These days a small team of AI agents sorts what comes in, drafts, researches and keeps my logs, and nothing leaves until I say yes. I started Held Steady Co. because most people I talk to want that kind of help and don't know where to start. I won't sell you the future. I'll learn how your week runs, build the first agent that takes something real off your plate, and teach you to run it yourself. Then I step back.

Held Steady Co. is part of Implex Labs, our small coding studio in Barnardsville, North Carolina, just outside Asheville.

How we work

What you can count on.

  • We go at your pace.

One agent, one job, until you're comfortable. Then more, if you want them.

  • Nothing moves without you.

Agents draft. You decide what's sent, spent or published.

  • We tell you the truth.

If agents won't help your week much, we'll say so.

  • You own everything.

Your accounts, your agents, your rules. We coach and build. You run it.

The name

Why "Held Steady."

The logo is a single ochre line held over an open palm. The line is the work. The open hand is you, keeping it steady and letting it go only when you choose. That's the whole idea of the company in one mark.
